Event Details
Date: The Sunday preceding Morse’s birthday, April 26, 2026.
Time: 14:00 – 19:59 UTC (6 hours).

Report: RST + ITU Zone.
Calling CQ: "CQ TEST" or "CQ SM".
Points:
Own country: 1 point per band.
Own continent: 3 points per band.
DX (other continent): 5 points per band.
Contacts with the same station may be established on different bands. Duplicate contacts on the same band (dupes) do not earn points.
Multipliers: Total number of DXCC entities reached. Each DXCC entity counts as a multiplier only once (for the first contact), regardless of the band.
Categories
SO LP (Single Operator, Low Power) All Band
SO HP (Single Operator, High Power) All Band
MO LP (Multi Operator, Low Power) All Band
MO HP (Multi Operator, High Power) All Band
Young Amateur LP (Up to age 25) All Band
LP= Total output power must not exceed 100W.
HP= Total output power must not exceed 1500W
Operational Rules:
SO: Only one signal may be transmitted at any given time.
MO: Only one signal may be transmitted at a time; however, a multiplier station is permitted to transmit simultaneously with the RUN station. The 10-minute band change rule applies to the RUN station.
Station Setup: For MO, all transmitters and receivers must be located within a 500-meter diameter circle. Transmitters and receivers must have a physical (ohmic) connection to the antennas.
Assistance: DX clusters and skimmers are permitted, but self-spotting is prohibited.
The use of remote SDR receivers, Artificial Intelligence (AI), or any other similar external assistance is strictly forbidden.
Log Submission
All participants must upload an electronic log in Cabrillo format to the contest website: https://samuelmorsecontest.com/submit-log.html. Paper logs or logs sent via email will not be accepted.
Each QSO entry in the log must include:
Exact date and time in UTC
Frequency or band
Callsign of the station worked
Sent exchange
Received exchange
Note: Incorrect or incomplete headers may result in the entry being placed in the wrong category or reclassified as a check log.
Deadline: Within 5 days of the end of the contest: May 2, 2026, 23:59 UTC. Logs submitted after the deadline will be considered late. Late logs may appear in the results list but are not eligible for awards.
Verification and Penalties
Logs will be verified via software and manual review.
Duplicate QSO: Deleted, no additional penalty.
Incorrectly received exchange: Deleted, no additional penalty.
Incorrect callsign or Not In Log (NIL): Contact deleted and a deduction of twice the point value of that QSO.
Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to: arranging contacts via non-radio means, violating band/frequency limits, manipulating log times, excessive unverifiable QSOs/multipliers, or signals that are over-wide or contain harmonics. Such behavior may lead to disqualification.
Results and Awards
Results will be evaluated by country and continent. The continental champions will receive a plaque. Every participant will receive a downloadable certificate corresponding to their ranking.
The committee may request full audio recordings of the contest period, station descriptions, photos, and technical data from stations likely to finish in the Top 5 at the continent or country level. All decisions made by the evaluation committee regarding rankings are final.
